PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable response of injection starting time of each injector to a top dead point and enable function diagnosis of injection process through analysis of control flow by connecting a nozzle needle to a servo piston working in cooperation with a control piston via an intermediate member. SOLUTION: To a high pressure connection part 2 of a casing 7 of a common rail injector 1, an accumulator 4 to which fuel is supplied from a fuel tank 6 through a pump 5 is connected via a high pressure pipe line 3. In the casing 7, a nozzle needle 8 is accommodated so as to be axially slidable, and high pressure fuel to be supplied to the high pressure connection part 2 is introduced into a nozzle chamber 13 provided in the area of the tip portion of the nozzle needle 8. A servo piton 20 is arranged at an end opposite to the needle 8 with an intermediate member interposed therebetween, and by making the piston 20 in cooporation with a control piston 27 to be operated when a current is supplied to an electromagnet 29, the needle 8 is made to open or close.
