PURPOSE:To separate a recording medium from a latent image carrying body surely without using any special separating device by forming said body to the small diameter within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:If a drum-like latent image carrying body is small in diameter, the elasticity of a recording medium which is tried to be wrapped thereon acts contrary to the wrapping and there is a need for equipping, for example, a charger, an optical system for exposure, a means for forming an electrostatic latent image, such a multistylus electrode, a transfer device or the like around the latent image carrying body. If the diameter is smaller than 10mm., the provision of such peripheral apparatus is infeasible. On the other hand, if the latent image carrying body has a larger diameter and smaller curvature, the tendency of the recording medium to the sepn. from said body owing to the elastic force of said medium decreases gradually. If the diameter thereof is <=40mm., the recording medium is separated automatically owing to its stiffness. Therefore, if the diameter is determined within a 10-40mm. range, the need for the separator to be used exclusively is eliminated and the wrapping of the recording medium on the latent image carrying body is thoroughly prevented. |
