PURPOSE:To improve the printing resistance by using gelatin for photography and gelatin having low mol.wt. in at least one of the gelatin-contg. layers each having a pH value below the isoelectric point of the gelatin. CONSTITUTION:Gelatin for photography and gelatin having low mol.wt. are used in an undercoat layer. It is preferable that they are also used in an emulsion layer. A support is made hydrophilic or undercoated, and the support is coated with the undercoat layer contg. the two kinds of gelatin adjusted to a pH value below the isoelectric point of the gelatin together with carbon black for antihalation. A hardening agent is incorporated in the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer is further coated with the gelatin-silver halide emulsion layer adjusted to a pH value below the isoelectric point of the gelatin. Said hardening agent is also incorporated in the emulsion layer. The resulting material is hardened by heating to 40 deg.C. |
