PURPOSE:To change the rotational speed intermittently during the winding-up so as to prevent abnormal wind-up such as a single turn, by providing a braking mechanism for applying intermittently a braking force to a code reel of a code winding-up machine. CONSTITUTION:When the code reel 10 is energized to rotate in the code winding-up direction, and if the rotational speed is low, a first braking piece 13 is located near the center and is in unsymmetrical relationship with a second braking piece 14. Accordingly, in this state, the code reel 10 is rotated under no braking force. Then if the rotational speed reaches a certain speed or over, due to the centrifugal force the first braking piece 13 is displaced to the outer periphery of the groove, and its circular locus coincides with the position of the second braking piece 14. Accordingly, when the first and second braking pieces 13, 14 are engaged, the code reel 10 undergoes a braking force, but in other cases it is not braked. In other words, the rotational speed of the code reel 10 is varied intermittently. |
