PURPOSE:To obtain iron powder as a superior carrier by simple treatment with no danger and no intricacy by mixing iron powder with a small amount of a silane coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:Iron powder is put in a mixer such as a blender, and while slowly stirring the powder, a silane coupling agent diluted 2-4 times is added by 0.05-0.1 part by weight per 100 parts iron powder. The mixture is put in a suitable container and dried at room temp. or with hot air. Since the amount of the coupling agent to be used is very small, drying under heating is accompanied by little danger. A strong film of the coupling agent can be formed on the surface of the iron powder. The coupling agnet is gamma-(2-aminoethyl)-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, gamma-(2-aminoethyl)aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilane, gamma- glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, aminosilane or the like. |
