INFORMATION RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To keep a fixed relation of relative positions between each output of a laser and a spot on a recording medium, by detecting the temperature of a common holding member which holds both recording and reproducing semiconductor lasers and then keeping the detected temperature at a fixed level. CONSTITUTION:A common holding member 3 which holds both recording and reproducing semiconductor lasers 2A and 2B is fixed to a pickup stage 1 via a temperature control member 4 made of a Peltier element. At the same time, a thermistor 5 is provided to the member 3. Then the temperature of the member 3 is controlled to a substantially constant level via the member 4 on the basis of the output of the thermistor 5. The recording and reproducing beams are radiated in the form of parallel luminous fluxes through collimator lenses 7A and 7B which are attached to the member 3 via lens barrels 6A and 6B. The relative position is kept constant among the outputs of lasers 2A and 2B and both spots on a recording medium since the temperature of the member 3 is kept nearly at a constant level.
