PURPOSE:To obtain a printer which can read an information indicating the form of paper, expressed beforehand thereon, when the paper is set on the printer, and which can issue an alarm when the form indicated by the information is different from a specified form of paper. CONSTITUTION:Printing paper 8 pulled out from a hopper 1 is passed through a transfer member 3 between tractors 9, and a scanner 4, and then is returned to a stacker 2. The scanner 4, comprising an OCR reader, a bar code reader, etc., reads a paper form information 12 expressed near a sprocket hole, for instance. The read information is set and stored in a data register, while the content thereof is displayed in a display unit 26. When a job of printing processing is started, an information of paper is transmitted, and it is set in a received data buffer 30 via an input-output interface signal line 28 and stored in a register 22. The contents of the two registes 21 and 22 are compared with each other in a comparator circuit 23, and when they are not coincident, an alarming lamp is lighted, while an alarm is issued by a buzzer. |
