PURPOSE:To improve the printing resistance by incorporating formalin and glyoxal into at least one of the gelatin-contg. layers. CONSTITUTION:Excessive hardening by formalin is prevented by making use of the hardening inhibiting action of glyoxal. The pH value of each of gelatin layers is adjusted to <=5.5, preferably a value below the isoelectric point of the gelatin. Formalin and glyoxal each are used by 5-500mg per 1g gelatin in accordance with various conditions, and they are combined in 1:10-10:1 ratio. |
