PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet nozzle free of electrolytic corrosion by a method in which a covering layer made of a material having a higher conductivity than an orifice metal material is provided on the surface on the outlet side of a charge control type ink jet nozzle with a metallic orifice so as to enable an earth lead wire to be taken from there. CONSTITUTION:A covering layer 17 made of a material (e.g., gold, etc.) having a higher conductivity than the metal material of an orifice is formed on the surface on the outlet side of a charge control type ink jet nozzle 2 having a metallic (nickel, etc.) orifice 3 by vapor deposition, plating, or sputtering, and earth lead wire is taken from the covering layer 1. By this, electric current flowing in a liquid column 4 where ink 5 is electrically charged in no droplet form flows in the covering layer 17 having a high conductivity, formed on the surface of the nozzle 2, and further discharged through the earth lead wire. Thus, electric current does not almost flow in the nozzle 2 and electrolytic corrosion can thus be avoided. |
