A telephone plug (1) is applicable with a corresponding telephone jack in e.g. a subscriber installation. The plug contains a combination lock and contact-effecting device (8) which, when the plug is in the jack in the applicable position it is partly included in firmly hooked co-operation with the opposing device (1b) in the jack, partly causing an electrical contact effect in the jack.
