PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material with superior photographic characteristics by usin a precondensate of triazinone or pyrimidinedione with formalin as a hardening agent for gelatin in the hydrophilic colloidal layers of a photosensitive material to improve the hardness of the layers. CONSTITUTION:A support is coated with hydrophilic colloidal layers including one or more photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers to obtain a photosensitive silver halide material. At this time, gelatin in the colloidal layers is hardened with a precondensate of triazinone and/or pyrimidinedione with formalin such as a compound represented by formula I or II (where R is 2-4C alkyl, X is H or OH, and each of n1 and n2 is 1-20). The hardness of the colloidal layers is improved, and a photosensitive silver halide material with superior photographic characteristics is obtd. |
