LUBRICATOR FOR AUTOMATIC SPEED CHANGE GEAR ASSOCIATED WITH OVERDRIVE MECHANISM

PURPOSE:To stabilize the lubrication of overdrive speed change gear by splitting the lubrication oil fed to an oil feed path and employing one for lubrication of overdrive speed change mechanism while the remainder for lubrication of multi- stage speed change mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A labyrinth mechanism 80 is formed between the wall section 55a of an internal gear 55 of an overdrive speed change mechanism and a planetary carrier 52 to provide some degree of pressure in a chamber 79 communicating with the oil paths 74, 78 formed in the output shaft 36 to the rear case 62. The lubricant is fed from said chamber 79 while leaking through a labyrinth mechanism 80 to a thrust washer 81, through an oil path 83 formed in the planetary carrier 52 to the needle bearing 86 of a pinion shaft 82, through a path between the input shaft 13 and the planetary carrier 52 forwardly and through a path between the internal gear 55 and the shaft 36 rearwardly.
