PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of defects at the boundary between a base metal and a built-up part, by providing an excess member in the base metal and cutting off the excess member after built-up welding the base metal and excess member. CONSTITUTION:An excess member 2 is provided in a base metal 1 and the base metal 1 and excess member 2 are built-up 3 by welding. As impuritues are deposited on the surface of built-up part, the impurities are cut by surface working, and a final built-up shape 4 is obtained. However, because impurities, etc. are remaining at the boundary (b) of the base metal excess member 2 and built- up excess member 5, the base metal excess member 2 and built-up excess member 5 are cut at (d). By this way, no defect remains in the final boundary (c), and building up can be performed by good welding, and cracking from the boundary is eliminated. |
