PURPOSE:To enable the detection of damage before any lining damage reaches the body of a container by applying a voltage between an electrode layer in a resin lining intermediate layer and another electrode provided in a tank liquid. CONSTITUTION:An electrode layer 4 is provided between first and second resin lining layers 2 and 3 applied on the inner surface of a steel container 1. An electrode is provided in the container separate from the electrode layer 4 in the lining layers and a voltage is applied between both the electrodes. When there is no damage to the resin lining, no current flows between the electrodes. In case damage is caused in the lining and reaches the electrode layer from the surface of the lining, current flows between the two electrodes. This current changes are checked electrically to detect the generation of the damage to the lining. |
