PURPOSE:To increase the mode volume and thus obtain a large output by a method wherein only the inner diameter of a laser tube at the beam waist is formed into a critical inner diameter, and the inner diameter of the other laser tubes is formed larger than the critical inner diameter. CONSTITUTION:The gas laser oscillator has an output coupling mirror 1 and a total reflection mirror 2. Only the inner diameter of the laser tube 51 at the beam waist is formed into the critical inner diameter, and the inner diameter of the other laser tubes 7 and 8 is formed larger than the critical inner diameter. Thereby, the mode volume 10 becomes larger, and accordingly a larger output can be obtained. It is enough to give straightness only to the laser tube 51 which regulates the beam diameter, and the demand for the straightness of the laser tube all over thereof is reduced. |
