<p>The invention relates to a binding agent, for an inorganic oxidic material, comprising an aminosilane and a thermosetting resin, said resin being selected from the group consisting of a phenol-formaldehyde resin and a condensation product of furfuryl alcohol with a urea-formaldehyde precondensate, the improvement wherein said aminosilane is selected from the group consisting of a) aminosilanes of the formula wherein n = 1 to 3, m = 0 or 1, p = 0 or 1 and each R represents a C1 to C3 alkyl moiety, and b) aminosilanes of the formula wherein n = 1 to 3, m = 0 or 1, p' = 2 or 3, R represents a C1 to C3 alkyl moiety, and R' represents a hydrogen atom or a C1 to C3 alkyl moiety. This binding agent is suitable for the binding of inorganic oxidic material especially sand where it exhibits improved shelf life as compared with unalkylated known aminosilanes.</p> |
