PURPOSE:To enable the water to be scattered uniformly onto a humidifying member and a stable humidification to be achieved by a method wherein a water suction pipe rotated by an electric motor is formed in a tapered shape with dounwardly reduced diameter and has a plurality of stepped parts each having a water scattering port. CONSTITUTION:When a water suction pipe 10 is rotated by an electric motor 7 after a predetermined amount of water 18 is supplied from a water tank 6 into a water reservoir 5, water 18 is drawn up through a water suction port 15 by the contrifugal force generated by rotation of the water suction pipe 10 and pumped while forming a spiral waterway along the inner wall thereof. When the spiral current has reached a stepped part 14a, the centrifugal force is increased by the latter thus eliminating the spiral waterway so that part of the water pumped may be discharged through the water scattering port 13a towards a humidifying member 11. This action is made in like manner in stepped parts 14b..., and as a result, the external air drawn in through an air suction port 2 by rotation of the fan blade 9 is humidified when passing through the humidifying member 11 and then discharged from a discharge port 3. |
