A parison heating furnace(1) has an open top large enough to receive an injection-moulded parison(2) with its sprue, using a pair of shears(4) in an opening(3) in the furnace bottom(1b) in which the sprue(2a) in received. The shears include face-to-face flat plates contg. orifices concentric with the bottom opening and defining opposite cutting edges that are movable together tosever the sprue. Sprue can be cout away without disturbing the moulding cycle.
