PURPOSE:To detect damage of a diaphragm in a diaphragm pump using the diaphragm having double layer construction, by introducing liquid, which inflows from a damaged area, into the diaphragm when the diaphragm is damaged. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm D is mounted to a chamber interposed between upper and bottom casings 1, 2, and this partitions the chamber into the first chamber 3 for forcibly fed liquid and the second chamber 4 for working oil. The diaphragm D is formed to double layer construction of two diaphragm elements D1, D2 and mounted by being held between the casings 1, 2 through metallic circular rings 30A, 30B. One of the diaphragms D1, D2 causes damage, if either the working oil or the forcibly fed liquid inflows between the both diaphragms, the liquid is introduced to a conduction path between the rings 30A, 30B further a subdiaphragm SD is lifted against a spring 42, and operation of a pump motor 22 is stopped through a relay, in this way, the damage is detected. |
