摘要 PURPOSE:To attain the correction and elimination of the smear component without changing the level into the black level even if a high luminance object is image picked up, by comparing the maximum value of the smear component with a reference voltage, and controlling the amount of light to a photodiode group so as to make the value almost equal to the reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:A peak value of the smear component is led to an input terminal of a differential amplifier 46, the reference voltage 47 is applied to the other input of the amplifier 46, and the difference between the peak value and the reference voltage is outputted to an output terminal of the amplifier 46. The output is led to a DC motor 48 and the mechanical rotating shaft is interlocked to an iris diaphragm adjusting mechanism of a lens system. In assuming that the image of the high luminance objective is formed on an image pickup element 21 with the lens system, the maximum level of the information of the smear component detected at the blind exposure is detected at a section 45, and if the level is higher than the reference level, the iris diaphragm of the lens system is stopped with the amplifier 46 and the motor 48, allowing to reduce the amount of light transmitting the lens system. As the result of the amount of light reduction, the smear component is reduced.
