PURPOSE:To intend a Diesel engine for various applications by improving the arrangement of a cooling water system and suction and exhaust systems and mounting most of the parts to the Diesel engine body in such a way as being used in common both air to and water cooling purpose. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection pump 8 is laid horizontally at the left side of one cylinder block 7 arranged perpendicularly to a crankshaft 1 of a Diesel engine and a fuel tank 9 is disposed above the pump 8. A suction pipe 10 and an exhaust pipe 11 are arranged at the opposite side to the fuel tank 9, namely, opposed to the side face of a right cylinder head 14, with an air cleaner 12 connected to the former 10 and an exhaust silencer 13 connected to the latter 11. Thus, most of the parts for both the air and water cooling engines may be used in common. |
