PURPOSE:To have air and fuel well mixed during turning them in the same direction inside a cylinder by arranging a suction valve and a gaseous fuel valve approximately in the symmetrical relation with respect to the center of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When a suction valve 20 is opened before a piston 14 reaches the top dead center, the quantity of air corresponding to the opening of a throttle valve 32 flows into a combustion chamber. Since the suction valve 20 is placed eccentrically with respect to the center of a cylinder, suction air is counterclockwise turned along the internal face of the cylinder. Gaseous fuel is sent under pressure into the combustion chamber at the proximity of the bottom dead center of the piston 14. A gaseous fuel valve 22 is placed in the approximately symmetrical arrangement with respect to the suction valve 20 and the center of the cylinder, and a fuel passage 40 extends in the opposite direction to the suction passage 28, on account of which fuel fed into the combustion chamber from the gaseous fuel valve 22 is turned in the same direction as air fed from the suction valve 20. |
