DECONTAMINATION APPARATUS

Appts. for decontaminating radioactive nuclear steam generators is suspended from the tube sheet(22) of the generator. It includes first and second harmonic drive mechanisms (68,72) that are mounted on a support(94) for rotating the appts. parallel and perpendicular to the phase of the tube sheet. Nozzles(4) are movable by a chain and sprocket drive(86) along an arm(78) mounted on the second drive; they are supplied with a grit density of 3 - 7 wt. %. The nozzles are kept 15 to 20 cm from the sheet surface.
