PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction at the time of counting independently of the state of sheet paper by detecting the end of counting of paper sheet, stopping a suction shaft precisely at a closed position after running the shaft once at a low speed and then starting the counting at the state to increasing the vacuum of the suction shaft. CONSTITUTION:Charged paper-sheets S are lifted up to a counting position by a holder 1 of a paper sheet counting device and the paper sheet S is adsorbed one by one to the contact surface 2a of the suction shaft 2 which rotates on its axis while revolving around a rotary cylinder 3 by the internal vacuum pressure communicated with a vacuum pump. When the suction shaft 2 revolves around the rotary cylinder 3 and rotates on its axis and a signal is outputted from a proximity switch 16, a sheet paper counting means counts up the number of paper sheet. Sheet detecting sensors 4A, 4B detect the presence and absence of uncounted paper sheet S on the holder 1 of the paper sheet counting device, and when the sensors 4A, 4B detect the absence of the paper sheet S, the suction shaft 2 is reduced to a low speed by an output from the switch 16 and stopped at a position closed from the external by a counting motor driving controlling part. At the high vacuum of the suction shaft 2, counting is started. |
