PURPOSE:To detect the possibility of operation from the result of detection by providing plural pieces of displacement detectors to a large-sized rotating body along the axial direction thereof, and detecting automatically the generation of cracking from the relation between the displacements detected with said detectors and time. CONSTITUTION:Displacement detectors 9a, 9b are installed to a bearing device 6, which supports the corner parts 7a, 7b of a coupling 3 most vulnerable to cracking of a turbine rotor 2, along the axial direction of the rotor 2. The displacements detected with the detectors 9a, 9b are conducted with amplifiers 10a, 10b to a recorder 11, so that the cracking is monitored automatically. An alarm device 12 is operated with respect to the abnormal displacement for the change with time and an operation stopping device 13 is operated automatically so as to stop the operation. The generation of the cracking is thus detected automatically and the possibility of operation is detected from the result thereof. |
