PURPOSE:To attain the modulation with a small channel capacity not including a DC etc. by selecting 256-words from a block code in 12-bit and 332X2-word where the number of 0s and 1s in one word is equal and the number of consecution is >=3, and adopting the 8-12 conversion of the NRZ system corresponding to a 256-word and 8-bit block code. CONSTITUTION:An analog signal and other data signals are applied to an A/D converter 2, a 8-bit block coding signal is applied to a 8-12 conversion circuit 4 via an error correction/corrected coding circuit 3, where the signals are converted into a 12-bit block code signal and the result is applied to a recording head via a recording amplifier 5. The 12-bit block coding signal reproduced from a magnetic tape 7 is applied to a 12-8 conversion circuit 10 via a reproducing amplifier 9 for 8-12 inversion, this signal is applied to a D/A conversion circuit 12 via an error correction/corrected decoding circuit 11, and the original signal is obtained at an output terminal 13. |
