PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate electric conductivity in a concerned region only from the measurement of the concerned region of an unknown sample, without disturbing a field, if there is a current field in the sample, and without modeling the sample body as a whole by using finite difference method and finite element method. SOLUTION: A current density distribution or a potential distribution are measured by a non-contact detector such as a highly sensitive magnetic detector, an electromagnetic wave detector, or a potential sensor, and a described first floor space partial differential equation is solved by one of measured values, so as to estimate conductivity spatial distribution relative to the reference conductivity given in the concerned region.
