This device prevents displacement of a fuel element(2) of a nuclear reactor, which contains a bundle of fuel elements. These elements are maintained parallel by a spacing grid(7) and a rigid structure(7a) formed of upper and lower parallel plates(8,9). Tie-rods(5) between them are distributed uniformly amongst the bundle and grid bushes(15) surrounding these tie-bars, and incorporate a sleeve(21) inserted into the grid bushes of the lower grid around the tie-bolts, which is fixed at its lower end to the lower plate. The sleeve has an outer shoulder(27) at its upper end, which stops the upward displacement of the grid bush and, therefore, of the lower grid and of the whole fuel assembly.
