NEW MATERIAL:A urea derivative of formula I (R<1> is alkyl which may include O, S or N in its carbon chain, alkenyl, alkadi- or alkatrienyl which may have halogens aralkenyl, cycloalkyl-substituted alkyl, cycloalkenyl-substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl-substituted alkenyl; R<2> is lower alkyl, aralkyl; X-Y is ethylene, NH- CO) or its pharmaceutically permissible acid adduct. EXAMPLE:N-(2-Heptenyl)-N'-(4,5-dihydro-1-methyl-4-oxo-1H-imidazol-2-yl )urea. USE:Antianxiety and antidepressant effective on treatment for affective disorders and nuroses such as anxiety, tension and depression. It can be given parenterally, however, oral administration is preferred. PREPARATION:The reaction of a compound of the formula: R<1>CNO with another compound of formula II gives the compound of formula I and its salt. |
