PURPOSE:To obtain the high volume of a battery by providing a synthetic resin coat in the peripheral section of a negative electrode can and a separator that is inserted between the peripheral section and a gasket through the synthetic resin coat and divides positive and negative electrode active materials. A synthetic resin coat 9 is provided on the surface of the curling section of the positive can 8 and is provided with softness and repellency. A gasket 10 is made of an insulating material such as synthetic resin or the like. A separator 11 is inserted between the curling section 8a and the stepped section 10a of the gasket 10 and divides positive and negative electrode active materials 12 and 13. As a result, the high volume of a battery can be obtained without increasing its size and a thin type sealed type alkaline battery with improved leakageproofness can be obtained. |
