摘要 PURPOSE:To prepare an alpha-olefin or its derivative from a hydrocarbon or its derivative having smaller carbon number than the objective olefin by one, by taking advantage of the dehydrogenating activity of methylal. CONSTITUTION:A hydrocarbon such as an aliphatic hydrocarbon, e.g. methane, ethane, propane, etc., or its derivative such as methyl acetate, acetonitrile, methyl chloride, etc., is made to react with methylal to obtain a hydrocarbon having larger carbon number than the raw material by one, and containing a double bond at the terminal or its derivative, e.g. ethylene, propylene, butene-1, methyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, vinyl chloride, etc. The methylal can be prepared easily by reacting 1mol of formaldehyde with 2mol of methanol in the presence of the acid catalyst. EFFECT:The raw material can be obtained independent of petroleum.
