PURPOSE:To obtain a high-degree function with a simple constitution and a low price for a modulating/demodulating device for optical communication, by modulating a control signal with a transmission data to transmit it to the remote side, and at the same time, separating the transmission data from the control signal by the modulating signal fed from the remote side. CONSTITUTION:A control signal CONTROLIN is supplied to an AND gate 7 via inverters 4 and 5, and a transmission data DATAIN is fed to an exclusive logical gate 9 via an inverter 3. Thus an output J produced by modulating the control signal with the transmission data is obtained through an exclusive OR gate 11 via FF6, 8 and 10. This signal J is transmitted to the remote side via an LED14 and in the form of an optical signal. While the optical signal is received at a photodetecting element 18 from the LED14 and converted into an electric signal. This photoelectrically converted output is amplified up to a logical level at an amplifying circuit part consisting of C-MOS inverters 21, 22, 25, 27 and 28. A reception data DATAOUT is obtained from a signal K via an FF29 and an inverter 37, and a control signal CONTROLOUT is obtained from the output of an inverter 36. |
