PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceiver having a small interval between photodetectors in which the photodetectors are disposed and corresponding to a high density design. SOLUTION: The photoreceiver comprises a plurality of photodetectors disposed at an interval between the elements of about 5 to 7μm in an X direction at rectangular photodetecting units each having a length of several 100μm in a Y direction. Each unit has a structure in which connectors of an external circuit to anode electrodes 8 are alternately taken out from both sides of the Y direction. Each anode electrode 8 limits a light from a Z direction, and forms an effective photodetecting region corresponding to each unit. A light incident from the region arrives at a light absorption layer 4 to generate a light generating carrier. The carrier is fetched as a light response current from the anode electrode 8 and a cathode electrode 1.
