PURPOSE:To obtain an oscillation unit for an electrostatic copying machine electrostatic charge device which prevents toner powder from sticking a wire for oscillation effectively by oscillating the wire for electrostatic charge a photosensitive drum or transfer paper intermittently. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic charge device case 20 made of aluminum is in a rectangular box shape and has wires 21A and 21B for high voltage application. A high frequency voltage of 10kHz, etc., is applied between a main electrode 42 on the piezoelectric element plate 34 of the oscillator 32 and an electrode and metallic oscillating piece 33 to oscillate the metallic oscillating piece 33, thereby oscillating the wires 21A and 21B for electrostatic charge intermittently. Therefore, the oscillation patterns of the wires 21A and 21B become more complicated than simple continuous oscillation and the sticking of toner is prevented effectively. The oscillator 32 is only actuated for a specified period when copying operation is started or in other idle time. |
