To enable a bicycle lock to be fitted to the fork on a bicycle or a moped, the lock can comprise a pair of metal canisters 6, 10, which are each welded at the bottom to a respective fork leg 1, 2. These metal canisters form a housing for the other parts of the lock. In the two canisters 6, 10, therefore, there are respectively a holder 9 having a pivotably mounted locking pin 5 and a lock 7 inserted and secured by means of a screw or by bending over of the marginal section of the metal housing. The metal housing 6, 10 is further provided with the recesses 8, 11 necessary for the working of the lock pin 5, such that the holder 9 and the lock 7 are well protected against violent attack. In this way, the holder 9 and the lock 7 can be manufactured by mass production using cheap materials such as plastic. <IMAGE>
