PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cadmium sulfoselenide having superior resolution and suitability to coating and giving a high contrast image from the early stage of image formation by covering the surfaces of CdS particles with cadmium sulfoselenide and calcining the covered particles. CONSTITUTION:To 100pts.wt. CdS is added >=20pts.wt. flux such as CdCl2, and they are calcined at a temp. from the temp. 50 deg.C above the m.p. of the flux to 600 deg.C to obtain CdS powder consisting of single particles. The CdS powder is dispersed and suspended in an aqueous Cd salt soln., and an aqueous (NH4)2Se soln. is charged with stirring. Cadmium sulfoselenide is deposited and stuck on the surface of the CdS powder, and the powder is calcined at 400-600 deg.C to form a solid soln. of cadmium sulfoselenide having 5-10mum particle size. Thus, photoconductive cadmium sulfoselenide having high crystallizability and a smooth surface and showing high sensitivity even in a longer wavelenght region of >=750nm is obtd. |
