PURPOSE:To improve stability in cask transportation in a nuclear fuel cask transporting equipment by providing a traverser equipped with a lifting divice lockably on a transportng carriage in such constitution that pallets are unloaded by the lifting device and then transported straightforwardly or transversely by the transporting carriage. CONSTITUTION:A transporting carriage 7 stops after inserting a locking member into a locking hole provided between rails 2. On the carriage 7, a traverser 8 with a lifting device 35 is engaged with the carraige 7, keeping the device 35 at its lowered position. In this state, a cask is put into a pallet 17, which is placed on cargo receiving tables 18 of the transporting carriage 7 and fixed in place by engaging a projecting part 41 with a recessed part 44. Next, according to the signal of a guide cable the carriage 7 is unlocked, and it travels up to a specified position. Then the lifts 35 and 40 are lifted to support the pallet 17 by the lift 35. After the next signal of the guide cable the traverser 9 is moved to a specified platform. With this constitution, safe cask transportation can be secured. |
