PURPOSE:To prepare a square hysteresis magnetic alloy high in residual density, having good angle hysteresis characteristics and easily susceptible to forging and processing, by a method wherein an Fe-W type alloy with a specific composition is subjected to annealing or solution heat treatment and the treated alloy is subjected to cold processing and heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:One kind or more of V, Nb, Cr, Mo, Ta, Ni, Cu, Co, Ti, Zr, Si, Al, Ge, Sn, Sb, Be, Mn, a rare earth element and C are added to an Fe-W alloy consisting of 1-20% W and the remainder Fe as auxiliary components in an amount of 0.01-60% as a sum amount and an objective alloy is prepared from the resulting composition by a melting method. The ingot of this alloy is molded into an objective shape by forging or hot processing and cold processing and the molded one is subjected to annealing or solution heat-treatment at about 900 deg.C or more. Succeedingly, the treated molded alloy is subjected to cold processing such as swaging, wire drawing or rolling processigs in a processing ratio of 50% or more to be heated to 400 deg.C or more. As the result, a square hysteresis magnetic alloy having coercive force of 2 Oersted or more is obtained. |
