PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed circuit steam cooling system for a first stage nozzle of a gas turbine. SOLUTION: In this system, each blade 10 has a plurality of cavities 42, 44, 46, 48, 50 provided with an insert. In the second cavity 46, a main insert 80 receives cooling steam from an inside plenum 66 to impingement-cool a side wall of the blade, and used cooling steam is discharged into a steam outlet 24 from between the main insert and a cavity wall. An auxiliary insert 90 receives steam in a condition in which it just flows in from a first chamber 39 of an outside band 12 to impingement-cool a local surface region 86 to steam- cool the local surface region of the blade adjacent to the outer side band. The used impingement cooling steam from the auxiliary insert joins the used cooling steam from the main insert and flows into the outlet.
