PURPOSE:To reduce the total cost of transportation to a boiler, by conveying slurry of pulverized coal from a mining place to a shipping place, using an underwater granulator to make pellets of the coal, conveying slurry of the pellets to offshore dehydration and mechanical loading facilities and conveying the pellets on the sea. CONSTITUTION:Coal is changed into fine powder by a pulverizer 29 in a mining place and mixed with water by an adjuster 30 so that slurry is prepared. The slurry is conveyed inland through a pipeline 24 by a pump 23 so that the slurry is stored in a pond 25 at a shipping place 12. The slurry is then sent to an underwater granulator 31 through a pipeline 24 by a pump 23 so that the pulverized coal is changed into pellets. Slurry of the pellets is sent to dehydration and mechanical loading facilities 32 through a submarine pipeline 26 and dehydrated by a simple dehydrator 33. The dehydrated pellets are put into a ship 19 by a mechanical loader 34. The pellets transported on the sea are sent to a pond 25 at a disembarkation place 20 through a one-point anchoring buoy 29 and a submarine pipeline 24. The coal sent to a dehydrator 33 by a pump 23 is dehydrated and put into a boiler bunker 22. |
