The method provides for the lines required for the driving in the shield head at the face to be assembled with the pipe elements to form units, for them to be split up into individual sections of the same length as the pipe elements, and in this way for the lines also to be extended to the requisite degree during the advance at the same time as a further pipe element is attached to the pipe run already advanced. The sealing pressure for the lines and/or the pipe structure, with the use of suitable seals, is applied by the driving presses alone and/or by means of vacuum. Furthermore, suitable devices for carrying out the method are described.
