Oil level measuring device

The aim of the invention is to indicate the exact oil level in vehicle engines by means of a mechanical read-off device, the hitherto customary dipsticks and all the involved manual work associated with determining the oil level being eliminated. The invention consists in that the oil level is indicated via a measuring rod which is firmly connected to a float. The oil level is indicated by a marking and can be read off directly. The measuring device can be accommodated either in a side chamber of the engine housing or inserted as an accessory instead of the customary dipstick.
