PURPOSE:To form an image with a lower voltage and a high sensitivity while preventing environmental pollution by injecting an electric charge into an image recording material containing organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder to form a latent image under the humidity applied, which then, is developed thermally. CONSTITUTION:A liquid coat comprising organic silver salt (e.g. 5-silver nitrobenzotriazole), a reducing agent (e.g. ascorbic acid) and a binder (e.g. polyvinyl butyral) is applied on a supporting body 15 to form an image recording layer 10 and an image recording material is obtained. For example, the recording layer 10 of the recording material thus obtained is humidified with a humidifier 12 so that the water content of the recording layer can be larger than the balanced water content in the atmosphere at the normal temperature under the normal humidity. A current flows through an image pattern with a metal needle 16 set at a specified voltage by a power source 17 to form a latent image. Thereafter, the image is visualized, for example, by heating it while contacting a heated platen 20. |
