<p>The formation of ribs (8) is carried out in a folding press, wherein a free portion (6) of the band (1) is limited by two clamping devices (2, 3). One (3) of the devices is arranged in a feed unit (4) and is displaced during conformation of a rib against the other clamping device (2). A blade (7) is advanced simultaneously and perpendicularly to the band (1) to initiate the folding motion. Since the feed unit (4) is accurately set in position to form each rib, the height (H) and the pitch (T) of the ribs may be varied as desired allowing to distribute the ribs so as to obtain an optimum heat transmission.</p> |
