Device for correcting the position of a belt pulley in a splitting machine for skins, containing a hollow shaft which is fastened at one end to the frame of the machine. Arranged displaceably in the hollow shaft is a sectional bar which has chamfers with an inclined plane at its own ends. Fixed stops come up against these chamfers and consist of pins which, when the sectional bar is moved in one direction or the other, bring about an angular displacement of the hollow shaft and consequently also of the belt pulley which is carried rotatably by the hollow shaft itself.
