In a method for the production of heat exchanger tubes provided with ribs, a wire spiral is introduced into a tube and the tube is pulled onto the wire spiral. Alternatively, a tube is pushed into a wire spiral or a wire spiral is wound onto a tube and the tube expanded relative to the wire spiral.
