A cutting-off apparatus for cutting off bar stock is proposed which comprises a bearing device for the rotatable support of the bar stock and a cutting-off machine. Roller holders with rollers are provided for the bearing of the bar stock. To cut off long bar stock, a second and if need be a third roller holder are allocated via round stock to the first roller holder provided in the area of the cutting-off machine. Material available in production quantity can be used as round stock. A standard machine is also used as the cutting-off machine. The cutting-off machine can be adjusted in all directions for adaptation to the desired type of cut. The cutting-off machine is suitable for stationary operation in the workshop and for use on construction sites.
