A fuel injection device of the distributor type has a feed pump, the outlet orifice of which is connected to a highly pressurised chamber inside a housing of the device. The highly pressurised chamber and the intake orifice of the feed pump are connected to one another by way of lines and by way of a pressure control valve which is fixed on the wall of the housing. An energising circuit for a solenoid actuating unit for triggering and for closing a bobbin of the pressure control valve contains a switch for closing the circuit during starting of the engine and a time delay circuit or a timing unit in order to keep the switch in the closed state for a predetermined period of time. <IMAGE>
