Semicircular seal

A semicircular seal contains a metallic part (1) and a flexible part (2) for sealing off the hole in the cylinder head during adjustment. At least one portion on the metallic part comes into partial contact with the surface of the hole. The semicircular seal adapts easily to the configuration of the hole and it is not necessary to use a sealing fluid. The tightening torque of the cylinder head can be kept low and the sealing effect is not lost even over several years since virtually no ageing influences are operative. <IMAGE>
