PURPOSE:To make it possible to rotate forcibly the valve stem of a poppet valve by forming a guide groove in the valve stem and providing a roller that fits into the guide groove. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical cam 31 is fixed to the valve stem 22 of a poppet valve. A guide groove is provided in the outer circumference of the cylindrical cam 31. One or a plurality of rollers 32 are supported at the upper part of a valve seat 25, and they are fitted into the guide groove of the cyindrical cam 31. When the valve stem rises by the force of a valve spring, the valve stem 22 is rotated by means of the tilted guide groove of the cylindrical cam 32. With this arrangement the seat section of the poppet valve has uniform temperature distribution and deformation of the valve is eliminated. |
